UKPTS Past-President, Professor Dominic Murphy has been elected to the role of President of the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS).
The ESTSS is a pan-European umbrella organisation which promotes the sharing of knowledge and experience about all aspects of traumatic stress, through research and best practice, building networks, and by contributing to public policy at a European level. It is also responsible for the peer-reviewed open access disciplinary journal, the European Journal of Psychotraumatology. All UKPTS members are automatically eligible for ESTSS membership.
Prof. Murphy is Head of Research at the Combat Stress Centre for Applied Military Health Research, and a co-Director of the King’s Centre for Military Health Research (KCMHR), at King’s College London.
Dominic has served as Treasurer of the ESTSS over the last two years and will begin his two-year term as President in January 2025, taking over from Dr Joanne Mouthaan (Leiden University).
Next year will also see the 18th biennial ESTSS conference “Exploring New Approaches for Healing and Recovery in Times of Global Uncertainty and Extreme Stress” hosted in Tbilisi, Georgia.
