Trauma-Informed Care in Inpatient CAMHS: Fostering Relational Safety

‘Trauma-Informed Care in Inpatient CAMHS: Fostering Relational Safety’

14 June 2023.  Virtual Conference.  Click here to register.

Aimed at those who work at or with an inpatient CAMHS unit, this one-day, online conference is focusing on Trauma-informed Care. It aims to provide you with the latest research and strategies for addressing trauma through speeches, presentations, and thought-provoking panel discussions, providing attendees with the tools and knowledge you need from leading experts in the field of Trauma-informed Care.

The BPS DPC Faculty for Children, Young People, and their Families present the Forum for Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychology Services (FICAPS) Conference focusing on trauma-informed care.  A trauma-informed approach aims to
provide a holistic technique to care, allowing for the recognition, treatment, and prevention of traumatising experiences; whilst also considering the strengths and resilience of each individual. TIC seeks to create a safe and nurturing environment in order to build trust with the young people, in turn this can lead to the young people actively engaging in their treatment and taking ownership of their recovery. Through the provision of empathy, compassion, understanding and safety, TIC helps to provide the foundation for children and adolescents to begin to heal and to move towards positive and lasting change.
